GPSR regulations for EU & NI customers

We have some sad news for our EU and Northern Ireland customers.

You may have read recently about GPSR and the changes it brings to how the UK sells products into the EU and Northern Ireland. The General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) are taking effect on 13th December and this unfortunatley means we will have to temporarily suspend all services to our EU and Northern Ireland customers.

GPSR is basically replacing older safety regs and are being put in place to ensure that all sales placed in the EU meet modern safety standards. This is great as obviously safety is paramount and we want to ensure we are fully compliant. However the GPSR means all businesses selling products (‘Product’ means any item intended for consumers or likely to be used by consumers, whether in return for payment or free of charge), must have an Authorised Representative based in the EU/NI who acts as a compliance contact and ensures the products meet EU requirements. At the moment, we do not have the resources to fulfil this but we are working with our couriers to explore how they will be able to assist with this new requirement.

This isn't something we wanted to do but there is very little information available about how UK businesses can continue operating within the European & Northern Ireland markets at the moment. 

To avoid non-compliance, we have had to temporarily suspend all EU and Northern Ireland services with immediate effect. 

If any orders do manage to come through in the meantime, we're afraid we will have to cancel and refund as we cannot fulfil them with the new GPSR compliance.

When will my delivery arrive?

Providing your items are in stock, we will aim to deliver your order within 3 working days. Please note – during our peak periods you should allow up to 7-10 days.

For International deliveries we will always aim to get your order to you within 7-10 days. Please note – during our peak periods you should allow up to 10-14 days.

Saturdays, Sundays and all Bank Holidays are classed as non-working days.

Where possible, we will endeavour to send all of your order together; however, any items that are out of stock will be sent as soon as possible. Please note – you will only be charged one delivery charge per order.

Can I track my order?

Yes, you will receive an email once your order has been placed and then when it has been dispatched.

Can I order a delivery to go to my place of work, or another address?

When ordering, simply request the delivery address you require. Please note the following points:

We will also require your billing address in order to process payment.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the delivery address is ready and able to accept delivery of the product(s) and, in particular, that there is space for any delivery vehicle to make the delivery.

Orders can be delivered to freight forwarding companies, hotels, B&Bs, storage and relocation companies who are identified by you as taking possession of the order on your behalf. However, we will not be able to provide a refund or process a return for any goods which are damaged or lost following signed acceptance of the delivery by these locations on your behalf.

Can I change the delivery details?

International Delivery

All deliveries to destinations outside the UK may be subject to import fees, duties and taxes, which are levied by the importing country at the time the delivery arrives in your country. Any applicable fees, duties and taxes and any additional charges for customs clearance will be payable by you.
Please note that you must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country to which the products are to be delivered. It is your responsibility to ensure the importation of the products you order is permitted in the country you specify for delivery. This may cause delay in delivery to you for which we do not accept any responsibility.

Before placing an order, it is your responsibility to check that any products ordered comply with state and federal government import regulations and there are no local requirements or restrictions which may affect you receiving any of these products and you accept full risk of this.

We shall have no liability to you in respect of any delay or failure to deliver a product due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including (without limitation) delay or failure caused by adverse weather, strikes or transport problems.

Will I be charged any additional fees for international orders?

I've placed an order but not heard anything, what should I do?

We aim to keep you informed every step of the way via email, however our customer services team are always available should you can have any questions or queries.

I've received only part of my order, what should I do?

Please refer to your dispatch confirmation to check delivery dates. Where possible, we will endeavour to send all of your order together, however any items that are out of stock will be sent as soon as possible. I've tracked my order and it says it has already been delivered, but I don't have it. What should I do?

Please check with a neighbour in case it has been left with them, if not, contact our customer service team on +44 (0) 1766 770 774 or info@portmeirionONLINE.co.uk. and we will investigate the matter further. Please note you must inform us with in 14 days if you have not recived your order.

How do I track the progress of my order?

If you have an email address registered with us you will receive an email to confirm that your items have been despatched.
